Fighting Flags quietly disrupts and interferes with cheerful exteriors. Outlines of hockey players fighting or baseball players colliding at home plate overlay a scrambled image with missing pieces. The abstracted collisions echo living in a time of polarizing politics and clashing ideologues. This project is ongoing and has evolved; a few of my flags have left the studio and landed on the homes and apartments of fellow queer friends and allies in Richmond, VA.
